Moments

finally changed my blogskin. hahaha. now my blog has some flavour rather than it being boring n plain. yesterday i went to changi naval base wit the class n our mentor. had to woke up damn early coz must be in skool at 8.20am. wtf! luckily i wasnt late. but out bus was! hahaha. while waiting for the bus, a few other buses stop at the nyp carpark n guess wat sec skool kids alighted? GUANGYANG SECONDARY SCHOOL kids! OMG i so vividly rmb when i was in that uniform, always being nag by mr sam goh for blousing my shirt as it was too big and my skirt too short and my hair too brown. those were the days. mr leong aka the spiderman (he is a national rock climber!) was there too. he go on about how he missed my mom's scrambled eggs and lauk lemak and how the muslim food at gyss and i quote,"cannot make it". den we talk about how are the teachers in gyss, some of which have left, and changes in gyss. can u believe that gyss has a rock climbing wall now? thank god i graduated liao. can u imagine having to climb walls during pe. tt wud be so tiring.

the naval changi base open house was hot n boring. the only fun and exciting thing that not only me n my classmates but our own mentor (aka miss geraldine yong) was doing was oogling at hot men in white navy uniforms! hahaha. there were alot of the divers/sailors in very short shorts! ubber hotness! hahaha! we only took the duck tour which was slow n boring. had a bit of seasickness! i saw a real submarine! cool! i was excited to go in the submarine but well it wasnt open for the public. sigh. den we waited for like forever under the shade wit other ite students for our bus back to nyp. n guess wat one of the ite students mention to another about me wen one of them was trying to tease me??? "eh jgn kacau la. tu cikgu dorang sak!" wakaka. tt means i look like a teacher of my class! which means i look mature. ok fine. i look old. damn sia! haha! it was kinda funny la.

when i told fad about the hott men at the naval base jez now, she said "yelah kalau kahwin ngan dorang nanti selalu kena tinggal kat rumah" which meant tt if i were to marry a sailor, my husband will always leave me behind to go overseas. n i told her, who wants to marry them? i was thinking if a fling. wakaka! funny ritez?

I was coming to the end of a long long walk
When a man crawled out of a cardboard box
Under the E. Street Bridge
Followed me on to it
I went out halfway across
With that homeless shadow tagging along
So I dug for some change
Wouldn't need it anyway
He took it lookin' just a bit ashamed
He said, You know
I haven't always been this way

I've had my moments, days in the sun
Moments I was second to none
Moments when I knew I did what I thought
I couldn't do
Like that plane ride coming home from the war
That summer my son was born
And memories like a coat so warm
A cold wind can't get through
Lookin' at me now you might not know it
But I've had my moments

I stood there tryin' to find my nerve
Wondering if a single soul on Earth
Would care at all
Miss me when I'm gone
That old man just kept hanging around
Lookin' at me, lookin' down
I think he recognized
That look in my eyes
Standing with him there I felt ashamed
I said, You know
I haven't always felt this way

I've had my moments, days in the sun
Moments I was second to none
Moments when I knew I did what I thought
I couldn't do
Like the day I walked away from the wine
For a woman who became my wife
And a love that, when it was right,
Could always see me through
Lookin' at me now you might not know it
But I've had my moments

I know somewhere 'round a trashcan fire tonight
That old man tells his story one more time
He says

I've had my moments, days in the sun
Moments I was second to none
Moments when I knew I did what I thought I
couldn't do
Like that cool night on the E. Street Bridge
When a young man almost ended it
I was right there, wasn't scared a bit
And I helped to pull him through
Lookin' at me now you might not know it
Oh, lookin' at me now you might not know it
But I've had my moments
whew! wat a long entry! haha!
